The Environment

We aim to work in the most efficient and sustainable way possible, which is why we use electronic systems, communications and documentation, where possible, to avoid unnecessary printing. Our printed literature uses paper from sustainable forestry (FSC) sources and, moving forward, we pledge to further reduce the use of printed brochures and materials.  

Recycling is just as important to us. All our office toner cartridges are recycled as is paper, which is security shredded before being recycled. We are currently implementing a program to recycle all waste from our offices, including food. Our computer hardware end-of-life policy means that hard disks are retained before equipment is recycled and donated to legitimate charitable organisations such as Computer Aid.

At FC Exchange, we save on energy consumption by having lights fitted with motion sensors, which will automatically switch lights on or off depending on whether we are in the office or not. Similarly our work stations are set to automatically power down every evening, making sure that there is reduced energy consumption. Furthermore, our systems are hosted on environmentally-friendly, virtual servers, and our key network components are Cloud hosted, making our office operations more efficient and sustainable. 

All of this reduces our carbon footprint and we pledge to monitor and work towards reducing it even further.
